Munn’s Church Accessibility Ramp

The scope.

This project involved the comprehensive construction of a new accessibility ramp, designed to meet modern accessibility standards and provide safe, reliable access for all users. The project included demolition, soil testing, concrete work, and the installation of steel railings.

Project details.

Demolition & Site Preparation
The project began with the demolition of the existing ramp and removal of debris. Soil testing and an engineering assessment were conducted to confirm foundation stability before construction.

Foundation & Structural Work
Footings were poured with 30MPa concrete and reinforced with rebar. Ramp walls and stairs were built with 35MPa concrete and 15mm rebar for added strength. Granular A material was used for backfilling beneath the ramp slab.

Ramp & Sidewalk Construction
Additional rebar was installed in the ramp, stairs, and landings. A 4-inch concrete slab and sidewalk were poured and finished with a broom texture to provide slip resistance.

Finishing Touches
Steel railings were fabricated, galvanized, and installed to complete the ramp, ensuring safety and accessibility for all users.

The outcome.

The new accessibility ramp provides a durable, safe, and aesthetically pleasing solution for improved access. The project was completed with attention to detail, ensuring compliance with all relevant accessibility standards and regulations.
