PetSmart // Silvercreek Pkwy. N., Guelph, ON

The scope.

This project involved the construction of a new loading dock and accessibility ramp, designed to enhance functionality and accessibility. The project included soil excavation, rebar installation, concrete work, and the installation of galvanized angles for structural integrity.

Project details.

Site Preparation & Excavation
Excavation reached the building footings, with soil carefully stockpiled for backfilling. Wood forms were installed to ensure accurate dimensions throughout the project.

Structural Reinforcement
Deco foam isolation was applied to prevent moisture penetration. Rebar was secured using HY-200 Hilti Epoxy, and structural galvanized angles were fitted for the overhang and leveling pit.

Concrete Work
Footings were poured with 25MPa concrete, while foundation and ramp walls were constructed with 35MPa concrete delivered via pump truck. The ramp and landings were reinforced and poured in two stages to ensure strength and a smooth finish.

Loading Dock & Finishing
The loading dock was poured with 35MPa air-entrained concrete and finished with a trowel for durability and a polished appearance.

The outcome.

The new loading dock and accessibility ramp provide a robust and accessible solution, enhancing the functionality of the facility. The project was executed with precision and attention to detail, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and specifications.
