Parpas Machine Foundation

FGL Precision Works Inc. // 475 Fenmar Dr, North York, ON

The scope.

This project involved the demolition and reconstruction of a machine foundation to support a new Parpas Machine. Work included scanning for buried utilities, excavation, removal of existing foundations, reinforced concrete installation, and precise rebar placement to ensure long-term structural integrity.

Project details.

Crews used Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to locate buried utilities before demolishing the existing WHN-13 and Toshiba foundations.

Excavation and debris removal followed, with three layers of 20M rebar installed for reinforcement.

Forming, pouring, and finishing were completed in phases using cranes and forklifts, with final backfilling and compaction ensuring stability.

The outcome.

The completed foundation provides a stable, high-strength base for the Parpas Machine, designed to withstand heavy loads and maintain precision. Despite tight working conditions due to dust control measures, the project was successfully completed to specification, ensuring durability and performance.
